LEADERSHIP

President - Howard Steinberg

Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those members of the Executive and the Board of Directors who have served so diligently over the past year. I am also pleased to welcome the incoming Executive and Board. The shul is dependent on all of you for your contribution of time and advice and we truly appreciate your help.

I am proud to report that during this past year we have really seen a turnaround in our shul. Looking back at all of our very successful achievements, I feel that we have accomplished a great deal.  We have had several shabbatons, a fantastic Purim celebration, and our Pesach/Mimouna was outstanding. TBDJ has started a Carlebach minyan for young families on Friday nights. We have launched a Sunday morning program of “Talmud, Tots and Tea” and, like all of our recent programs, it has been very well attended.

I am proud to report that that our Sephardic minyan is expanding and continues to have many exciting activities.

I was extremely moved by the recent Bar/Bat Mitzvah program that we shared with the Miriam Foundation and their clients. It was one of the most meaningful events we have ever had in our shul.

I want to thank all of you who have participated both in buying and selling tickets for The TBDJ Raffle. This year’s success could not have been attained without all of your help. Toda Raba to Mayer Diamond and Leon Serruya who have co-chaired this campaign.

One of my objectives as President has been to try to keep the congregants up to date on all shul happenings. I have been sending out email updates to the all members periodically to achieve this goal. TBDJ is OUR home and if you have any requests or comments please feel free to e-mail me at president@tbdj.org.

As I begin my second year of duty, I am extremely optimistic for the future of our shul.  Looking around at all of our young families getting involved and participating in the planning of so many activities is very exciting. We are truly a blessed congregation.  Again I must thank our dear Rabbi for all of his guidance and leadership in the planning and carrying out of many of our programs - Yasher Koach.

I look forward to seeing you at the many shul programs that we have throughout the year and celebrating holidays and simchas together.
