Great Jewish Books Course - Great Works About Chanuka - with Rabbi Yechezkel Freundlich

Monday, 3 December, 2018 25 Kislev 5779

7:45 PM - 9:00 PMLower Hall

This lecture series is sponsored by the Wainberg Family in memory of TBDJ President Mark Wainberg Z"L.

In this special holiday session, Rabbi Freundlich surveys important Jewish literary works on the holiday of Chanuka.  Each lecture in this series explores one of twenty of the Jewish world's foremost written works, crafted by the most influental rabbis who have helped to forge links between our ancient Torah and contemporary Jewish life.  Starting with Rashi, “The Teacher of all of Israel,” and continuing through modern times, each class provides biographical sketches of the author's life, summarizes the historical context in which the book was written, and surveys the main lessons and themes taught on its pages.  Attendees receive relevant handouts to assist them, plus access to video recordings of any sessions which they may have missed.  In the lower level chapel.  Maariv follows each class.
